The Pianist

I began music lessons at three at Tuula Kaukovalta’s music playschool for young children. At six I started piano studies in the advanced division of the Varsinais-Suomi Music Institute (VSMOL), and a few years later moved to a private teacher. From 2002 to 2006, I studied pop and jazz piano with Pekka Laine at the Turku Conservatory (formerly TSMO).

I’ve played countless gigs over the years — weddings, private and corporate events, clubs, restaurants, care homes, spas, university and college celebrations, and VIP receptions at Turku City Hall.

I’ve also played in entertainment orchestras, accompanied various soloists, and for three years served as the weekly house pianist at the Turku restaurant Bryssel (since closed).

I’m based in Turku but the work isn’t confined to it — I perform regularly in Helsinki, Tampere, Rauma, Pori, Hämeenlinna, Salo, and the surrounding areas.

From 2015 to 2023 I lived in New York with my family; I now hold dual Finnish and US citizenship. Alongside the piano gigs, I hold a Master of Arts, work as an IT professional, and serve as an authorized translator specializing in technical and legal texts.
